Australia Plans To Cut Import Tariffs On Shoes And Clothing

KimCarr, Minister of innovation, industry and technology in Australia, announced the proposal put forward by the Australian textile and footwear industry, which clearly pointed out how the industry should take part in today's ever increasing global market competition.


The report recommends building innovative capabilities at the grassroots level and supporting the reduction of tariffs on the textile footwear industry by 2015, and proposes to cut tariffs to 5% between 2010 and 2010.
